Ich denke, dass sich die Thai nicht lumpen lassen wird, denn sie will ja wahrscheinlich mit den Lounges von Cathay in HKG und Singapore Airlines in Singapur schon konkurrieren können
was nützt das phantasieren - wir müssen halt warten bis der erste PRAKTISCH die neuen diversen Lounges getestet hat. Bin mir nämlich immer noch nicht sicher, ob denn TATSÄCHLICH am 28. September eröffnet wird. So ein Termin stand schon öfters fest und mußte immer verschoben werden. Bei den Thais weiß man das nie.
Sorry - nicht daß jemand jetzt meint ich diskriminiere; natürlich weiß man bei den Deutschen und ihren geplanten Öffnungsterminen auch nie ob es dabei bleibt. Der neue Berlin Airport wird ja auch 100% ig nicht wie geplant fertig.
ja stimmt, aber nachdem schon die ganzen Airlines angeschrieben wurden, sollte der Termin wohl eingehalten werden. Der neue Airport sollte ja eigentlich schon Ende 2005 "online" gehen.
Thai Airways first-class lounges at Suvarnabhumi airport Tags: News Dreading the thought of spending hours waiting for your flight at the Suvarnabhumi Airport? For a select group of passengers, the wait promises to be the same as a visit to a five-star resort. This is the kind of experience Thai Airways International (THAI) and its partner international airlines will provide for first- and business-class passengers at a cluster of lounges under construction at Bangkok's new airport. The national carrier is spending 300 million baht on the lounges, which form a crucial part of THAI's campaign to strengthen its brand image, with a particular focus on premium travellers. THAI is counting on the new facilities to help it to regain first place in Skytrax's global ranking for the world's best first-class lounge, which it lost to Cathay Pacific's Hong Kong facility last year. THAI currently ranks second in the survey conducted by the London-based aviation research company. The airline was in first place between Sept 2004 and Sept 2005 while Cathay Pacific was third. The facilities at Suvarnabhumi, due to open for commercial service in late September, are built to meet the standards set by Star Alliance, the world's largest airline alliance, whose 18 airline members include carriers like Lufthansa, United and Singapore Airlines. The facilities, which are the largest of their kind at the new airport, boast unique designs and an extensive range of passenger services which could put the leading airport lounges around the world to shame, said THAI executives. It will be complete with luxury spa and massage rooms, a fine-dining area, slumber rooms with full-size flat beds, a business centre, a host of private meeting rooms, state-of-the-art video and visual entertainment rooms, shower rooms, deluxe seating areas and built-in check-in facilities. There will be eight lounges built for different purposes located in five strategically positioned locations occupying a total area of 13,000 square metres in the airport's departure hall. That is twice the size of THAI's premium lounges at Don Muang airport, which handles between 150,000 and 180,000 THAI and partner airline passengers each month. The facilities include a 3,750-sq m common lounge, a 650-sq m spa lounge, a 250-sq m arrival lounge, two transit passenger lounges (total 650 sq m), a 650-sq m domestic lounge and two lounges for partner airlines (650 sq m). THAI commissioned a team of five national artists led by Preecha Taotong, a painting, sculpture and graphic art dean at Silpakorn University, to give the facilities an exquisite Thai theme. "Going through the facilities is like walking through a gallery with scores of paintings and cultural and art pieces which are uniquely Thai, adorned around the whole place," explained a THAI executive. The design is wrapped around the theme - Suvarnabhumi, meaning "the golden land" in Thai - to reflect the richness of Thailand's culture and people. We want to project the character of a beautiful, young and elegant Thai lady for the THAI facilities, the executive noted. Insiders said THAI had been in discussions with The Oriental Bangkok to provide fine dining services at its Suvarnabhumi lounges, similar to Cathay Pacific's Hong Kong facilities, whose catering is provided by the Mandarin Oriental Hotel.Aside from this high-quality offering, THAI plans to introduce a range of innovative services like allowing its late-night premium passengers, mostly bound for Europe, to dine at its lounges' restaurant before boarding rather than being woken up in the wee hours of the morning for dinner. Info zur First Class Lounge von Thai in BKK Hallo, in paar Infos zur Thai First Class Lounge auf dem neuen Flughafen Suvarnabhumi: Bei der Anfahrt wird das Gepäck wie im Hotel in Empfang genommen u. zur Eincheck-Lounge gebracht. Einchecken erfolgt am separaten Schalter. In der Zwischenzeit (ca. 5 Min) kann man in Sesseln platz nehmen. Die Bordkarte wird dann gebracht und man wird durch die Passkontrolle begleitet. Die Lounge selbst ist etwas entfernt. Man wird jedoch mit einem Elektrowagen hingebracht. Die Lounge ist sehr geschackvoll und bequem und viele nette Damen stehen bereit um Drinks zu bringen. Das kulinarische Angebot ist jedoch noch stark verbesserungswürdig. Eingeschweißte Sandwiches und Fettgebackenes sind nicht jedermanns Sache. Rechtzeitig vor dem Final call wird man dann zum Flieger bebracht. In Kürze soll ein Spa fertiggestellt werden und auch die Möglichkeit bestehen, vor dem Flug Essen zu können. Fazit: Toller Service, nette Leute und noch Platz für Verbesserungen.
